Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year. It is my privilege to be the principal at Granada Middle School, a California Gold Ribbon School, California Distinguished School, CBEE Honor Roll School, and GreatSchools Spotlight School for Hispanic Students. It is humbling to have the opportunity to work with this phenomenal group of students, families, and staff. Middle school is a time of tremendous change and my staff and I endeavor to provide our students with a safe and nurturing environment where they can grow and explore the world around them. My goal is to ensure that Granada is providing a rigorous academic environment that prepares our students to succeed in high school, college, and beyond while at the same time provides an engaging environment where students want to be each day. While the school plays an integral role in this success, it also hinges on active parent involvement. I encourage parents to talk with their children each night about the goings-on at school. Each student is provided with a planner that should also be checked daily so that parents know what their child is currently working on. Further, our highly engaged PTSA is always looking for parent volunteers to help with the myriad of events they put on each year. Finally, I encourage you to follow the Granada Facebook page to get a glimpse of what is happening on our campus each week. I am looking forward to a great school year and hope to see you on campus soon!
